This light-bodied Kenyan coffee packs all the citrus acidity you could want, and smuggles in an unexpected brown sugar note for balance.

Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy caramelized sugars and a smooth cup.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.

    Cortado Perfection

I’m an oat cortado guy. Daily. Tend to lean to Ethiopian coffees. This one (Kenyan) works great and nail it for me. Flavorful, rich, just hits the spot.

For the obsessives, my setup: Breville Barista Pro Grinder (settings inner burr 3, outer 9, 18g), Breville Infuser. I tend to pull a 50-53g shot!
