Funky & Fruity

Red Rooster has sourced this modern Ethiopian coffee for years and it's delicious every year. We taste blueberry, winey acidity, and a hint of cocoa.

Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy balance and classic flavors like cocoa and nuts.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.

Funky and fruity is great description in a good way

I thought the berry really pops here, not in a flavored coffee kind of way but a really nice note of it. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend if enjoying anaerobics

    Stand out favorite

This has been, and continues to be, my favorite coffee that I’ve purchased and always frequent in ordering. This anaerobic process is delicious and the flavors truly stand out. A true gem. As a former barista, I love being able to enjoy great quality coffee, and this single origin from Red Rooster makes me feel like I’m back at my local coffee shop, enjoying something special.

    An excellent and fruity anaerobic

I’m partial to the anaerobic process. It seems to produce coffees that pop with flavor. This is a great value for this type of coffee which is more labor intensive to produce. Red Rooster is an excellent supplier, I just wish Trade would carry more of their better coffees like this one!

I expected great and honestly this was better

I love most African single origin coffees so I had high hopes for this and it was better than I even expected. Fruity, floral, absolutely fantastic. I’ve made it as a pour over, espresso, and I made a latte for my wife and every single iteration was fantastic. Can’t say enough good things about this roast. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.
