Funky & Fruity

We usually think of Sumatras as heavy and earthy coffees. But, by perfecting natural processing, as opposed to the wet-hulled process common in the region, Asman Arianto turns this coffee from a co-operative of 350 small farmers into a fruit bomb.

We taste sweet strawberries, punchy pineapple, and bright lemon with a hint of milk chocolate in the aftertaste. It's definitely not the Sumatra you're used to!

Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy balance and classic flavors like cocoa and nuts.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.
