Subtle & Delicate

El Injerto is one of the most award-winning coffee farms in the world, winning first place in the prestigious Guatemala Cup of Excellence 12 times. Pacamara, famous for its big beans and complex flavor, is the variety that first brought them international acclaim. This year’s version Pacamara is as elegant and juicy as ever. We taste sweet citrus like key lime and orange, complex apple acidity, and big floral aromatics that remind us of jasmine.

Understanding roast levels

Roast level affects both flavor and body. Here's what to expect from each.

Light

Best for: those that prize delicate flavors and a tea-like feel above intensity.

Light-Medium

Best for: those that enjoy juicy acidity and gently caramelized sugars.

Medium

Best for: those that enjoy balance and classic flavors like cocoa and nuts.

Medium-Dark

Best for: those looking for classic coffee flavors with a kiss of roast.

Dark

Best for: those that love intense, smoky flavor and a full body above all else.

Trade Tip

Roasters don’t always agree on roast level — one roaster’s dark might look the same as another’s medium. We taste and assign every coffee our own roast level, so your matches stay consistent no matter who roasted them.

    Amazing coffee

Equator Coffees contains its tradition of outstanding coffee with El Injerto Pacamara. Perhaps one of the most enjoyable roasts of the year, if not the decade. A full body coffee bursting with flavor and roasted to absolute perfection! The aroma of the beans alone is sublime. I only regret that it was sold out before I could order a second bag.

    Quality

After dialing in the flavors over the course of a few days I have to say I really enjoy the profile of flavors over the spread grind sizes. I usually like it best as a restrato but it was really good with an espresso ratio. Unusual for me.

    Light & flavorful

Large, choice looking beans that suggest they’ve been carefully selected for their quality; a fresh, delicate aroma; brewed as pour over El Injerto has a light, clean body, extremely smooth and round in the mouth without a trace of bitterness. The claimed fruitiness was less pronounced to me, but it is remarkable for its full, intense flavor while having a very appealing lightness. Overall an outstanding choice for a cup that is subtle and bright rather than bold and powerful.
